Large Shelving and Pallet Racking Installation at European Plant and Machinery Sales!

We supplied European Plant and Machinery Sales with vast amounts of shelving and pallet racking, to turn their warehouse in to a functional storage facility.

When deciding on how to properly utilise a large space it can be quite difficult to determine exactly what is required and how much of it you will need.

Often such a vast job can be overwhelming and it’s hard to know where to begin.

In February of 2013, European Plant and Machinery Sales came to us with this exact problem. They are Europe's premier used equipment supplier and as such they specialise in sales of all types of construction equipment and had a very large warehouse which they needed to become a functional storage facility, for items ranging from smaller tools and equipment, to very large, heavy vehicle parts.

With our help, and the use of our bespoke design package Gigant 3D, we proposed a layout incorporating 49 bays of shelving (equivalent of 300m), each seven shelves high. 14 linear metres of pallet racking with fork lift access and protective barriers, with additional bays of cantilever racking for the storage of extremely large and heavy parts.

As you can see from the pictures, this was a considerable undertaking but still only took Gigant personnel a total of 4 days to install with minimum disruption to the customer.

Now the warehouse had been transformed from an empty space into a huge fully functioning storage facility.

The shelving is adjustable meaning each of the shelves can be manoeuvred to suit the various heights of whatever needs to be stored. But crucially It was also designed so that another story of shelving can be fixed to the existing bays with staircase access.

Therefore they can double the height of the shelving if they wish to in the future.
